Let’s be real…
You’re going to drink anyways over the holidays so why not have some tricks up your sleeve to make indulging a little healthier?
Hi Trudy Stone here, culinary nutritionist and TV guest wellness expert.
And if you’ve ever wanted to drink guilt free over the holidays, then you’re going to want
to read every word of this page.
Let me start with a story…
It was 2013, and I had just started yet another diet in an attempt to lose weight.
As usual, things started off pretty well. I was planning my meals ahead and minding my sugar intake.
But guess what?
Then the holidays were here. Suddenly I was faced with all of my favourite treats like cookies, pie, Turtles and of course….festive holiday cocktails.
Depriving myself of all of my favourite treats wasn’t working. In fact it just made me
want them even more.
Can you relate to that?
It was frustrating to say the least. I mean I was trying to be “good” but eventually I caved…
BIG TIME.
Then I felt so guilty that my willpower wasn’t strong enough. I felt like every time I started a diet it ended in the same way…failure.
I kept thinking there’s got to be a better way to stay on top of my health goals even during the holidays. Seems like other people can stick to their healthy habits just fine –
so what was my problem?
That’s when I stumbled into a marvelous discovery that instantly made it much easier
for me to eat and drink guilt free over the holidays.
Suddenly, instead of feeling deprived or wracked with guilt when I enjoyed a festive holiday cocktail, I was sipping away guilt free.
And best of all, I was nourishing my body at the same time.
What was this discovery?
Simple – adding all-natural antioxidant-rich ingredients to my festive holiday cocktails
instead of sugary mixes that leave you with a hangover,
a load of guilt and pants that feel a bit tighter in January.
For example, ginger. Ginger (which I added to my Moscow Mule and Golden Tonic)
may help with weight loss.
Take a look at this proof:
According to a 2017, compounds called zingerone and shogaols in ginger may help with weight loss. These compounds may be beneficial in your complex bodily processes that burn
and store fat.
Since then, by using food as medicine and tapping into the power of natural ingredients,
I’ve gone on to lose 30lbs and have helped my clients to do the same.
And now, I’m sharing my plan to drink guilt free over the holidays…
