Chicken and salmon shouldn’t be the only stars of the show at your BBQ; why not add some grilled fruit to the party? Grilling fruit brings out the natural sweetness of fruit and there are SO may ways to dress them up. Have some fun with unique flavor combinations.
Wondering what fruit to throw on the ‘Q’? Here’s a list of the best fruits to grill:
Peaches — This is my favorite fruit to grill! Slice them in half, remove seed and place open face down on the grill. No need to peel off the skin. Serve drizzled with honey and topped with ice cream or try this.

Pineapple — Okay so I guess I’m doing these in rank order because this would be my second fav grilled fruit. Remove skin and cut into rings. Sprinkle on some brown sugar so they caramelize a bit and grill for several minutes on each side. Or add it to some shrimp like Closet Cooking did.

Strawberries – Thread onto skewers and grill for several minutes. Or pick up some pound cake along with your strawberries and make shortcake!

Watermelon — Yes, watermelon. If eating it on its own, make sure to cut into thick slices and then grill for a couple minutes. Let it sit for a couple of minute or enjoy it in this salad.

Bananas — Place small slits in bananas to let heat escape and place bananas unpeeled on medium-hot grill for 3-4 minutes on each side until bananas are slightly soft and darkened. Serve warm topped with frozen yogurt, mini marshmallows, chocolate chips, chopped nuts or caramel. Or try this…

Lemons – You will be so amazed with the flavours of grilling lemons! As they caramelize on the grill, their juices are unleashed. Cut lemons in half (not lengthwise) and brush with a little olive oil. Squeeze over chicken salmon or veggies.
