It’s 3:00pm, you’ve had it with email and your head is about to hit the desk.

As the timer counted down and Netflix asked you last night if you wanted to watch the next episode the right answer should’ve been ‘no, I need get some shut eye’. Instead the next episode started before you could win the debate.

We’ve all been there.

Personally I’m currently binging on ‘The 100’ 🙂

You need a snack and you need it NOOOOOW.

That’s where these No Bake Salted Caramel Protein Balls come in.

Getting hungry in between meals, can totally zap your energy not to mention your willpower and before you know it you’re making a beeline to Starbucks to order a Caramel Frappucino extra whip, and yes, I’ll have the brownie.

The trick to the perfect healthy snack to hold you over until your next meal is one powered with protein and fiber. This is especially important if you’re trying to lose weight. If so, you might want to check out these top protein rich foods.

I am a sucker for anything with caramel, bonus if chocolate is involved. These Salted Caramel Protein Balls may not have chocolate but they definitely satisfy that sticky and sweet caramel craving without the guilt. They also have protein that will help to keep you full in between meals.

Over the years I’ve used A LOT of different types of protein powders – both whey and plant-based. I found that the whey protein powders aside from having artificial sweeteners and flavours, always made me feel bloated so as soon as I made that link, I dropped them.

While on my quest for the perfect plant-based protein powder, Genuine Health’s Fermented Vegan Proteins+ was the only one that I found that didn’t make me feel bloated and most importantly tasted GREAT! Genuine Health Fermented Vegan Proteins+ is the first fully fermented protein which contributes to a healthy gut, overall good health & is easy to digest.

You might be wondering about the ‘fermented’ part. Fermented protein aids in digestion and nutrient absorption. Many people underestimate the importance of gut maintenance for everyday health as well as when trying to lose weight.

85% of your immune system is housed in your gut. Yup, you read that right.
You have about 100 trillion bacteria, both good and bad calling your gut home sweet home. Therefore it should come as no surprise that your gut health also plays a large role in your metabolism.

Certain junk foods that you eat such as sugar and refined carbohydrates can lead to increased inflammation and cause metabolic changes in your body that result in overproduction of insulin, increased appetite, increased fat storage and obesity.

One of the best kept secrets for burning fat and boosting your metabolism is by keeping your gut flora healthy with naturally fermented foods like this protein powder. Although it was hard to narrow it down, fermented foods easily could’ve made the list of these 5 Lifestyle Hacks to lose weight.

Fermented foods like sauerkraut and kimchi as well as Genuine Health Fermented Vegan Proteins+ are so beneficial in detoxification and ridding your body of harmful toxins.

If you’re looking to add more protein to your diet or if you suffer from bloating [which a lot of my readers do], you should definitely give Genuine Health Fermented Vegan Proteins+ a try. You could easily add this protein to your morning smoothie or healthy snacks like this protein balls, or muffins.

So I talked real quick about the importance of fiber in your snacks. The secret ingredient that puts the caramel in these protein balls are dates. Dates are not only a great natural sweetener in your smoothies and desserts they’re also really high in fiber.

Although I’ve noted them as optional, I really suggest adding chia seeds to these Salted Caramel Protein Balls as well. Not only will they give you a little crunch, chia seeds are also great for boosting your energy.

So these tasty little bites solve two problems you probably have in the afternoon…
