To change your unhealthy eating habits it’s helpful to have some healthy hacks on hand to make it easier.
Being busy is no excuse! If you find yourself constantly bogged down with many demands that’s even more reason to eat healthy.
Here are 6 easy healthy habit hacks to squeeze into your busy life.
1. Water
Water is super important for your health. It’s amazing how water wakes me up in the morning when I feel like a zombie. Keep a glass of water on your night stand and drink 1 cup as soon as you wake up.
Always take a water bottle with you no matter what. If you invest in a nice one it will make you more likely to use it 🙂 Kick things up a notch and make it interesting by adding mint and cucumber or strawberries and lemon wedges.
Here’s your healthy habit hack: If you want to make you water more tasty and less boring, check out this fruit infused water recipe.
2. Greens
Eating green foods daily like broccoli, spinach and kale will detoxify your body, slim you down, as well as reduce inflammation in your body. If you’re too busy to cook greens or squeeze them in a great idea is to use a greens powder.
My fav healthy habit hack for getting more greens is Genuine Health Greens+. It’s easy to add more greens to your day with Genuine Health Greens+. Simply add a scoop to a glass or mason jar, add some water and stir or shake. It’s perfect to drink on the go and is also a great way to give your smoothie a boost.
Greens + is the perfect way to improve your digestive health, brain health and increase your energy. It nourishes and protects your body and has loads of essential nutrients. It’s packed with 23 powerful ingredients in each scoop like green tea extract, spirulina, and acerola berries, the most potent source of natural Vitamin C and more!
It’s perfect first thing in the morning or when you experience your afternoon slump. It’s a far better method of staying awake and energized than knocking back all those dehydrating coffees and energy drinks.

3. Exercise
If you have problems sleeping, then you’ll want to add some exercise in as much as possible. Even 10-20 minutes a day will do. I’m going to talk about this more in my upcoming book but exercise is the best way to ensure a restful night’s sleep, improve your mood and increase your energy.
I learned this healthy habit hack when I was losing weight and couldn’t afford a gym membership. I went out into my backyard and jumped rope and did jumping jacks for 10 minutes. I would also do push ups and squats and lunges.
I challenge you to wake up 15 minutes earlier and squeeze it in! You’ll benefit by having increased energy and exercising will help to build momentum, which will help you to make healthier eating choices throughout the day.
I have recently also found out that products like the ones here: neotericnutra.com work really well alongside exercise. These products help reduce the chance of you having heart problems, they also help with joints and your sleep!

Yes, I know you’ve heard it before and that’s because it’s SO important!!
Prepping your meals will provide peace of mind knowing that dinner is already done when you get home.
This will save you tons of time during the week. It will also make you less likely to call up Dominoes.
People who cook at home tend to eat healthier and are slimmer.

My fav healthy habit hack for making healthy eating easier is using my slow cooker. I just toss everything in and walk out the door. This recipe is one of my favourites!
5. Healthy snacks
It’s inevitable, we always crave something to nibble on between meals so it’s important to think ahead when it comes to snacking so that you don’t dive face first into a double chocolate brownie. Create snack packs and take them with you wherever you go so that you don’t give into temptation.
The best healthy habit hack here is to pack a Ziplock bag with a homemade trail mix of a variety of healthy fats like nuts and seeds. If you get stuck in traffic or when a snack attack hits, you’ll be prepared.
Check out my healthy snacks guide for recipes and inspiration for healthier snack options.
6. Take time to relax
Make yourself cup of tea, have a bath or catch up on your fav TV show.
I like to treat myself to a chocolate chaga latte which helps to reduce stress. You can grab the recipe here.
Taking some time to reset and recharge will make you more productive.
While we’re on the topic of stress, excess stress leads to the release of cortisol which contributes to weight gain and chronic disease. Chaga is what’s known as an adaptogen that helps your body to adapt to and resist stress.
Bonus tip!
Changing your habits can be hard work which is why it’s important to be consistent. Doing the same thing at the same time every day is the best way to make any of the hacks I mentioned earlier stick and become lifelong changes.
